Is Badr Hari Going To Be a Father?

Recently, I have heard from a variety of sources that Badr Hari’s girlfriend is pregnant with his child. I don’t know who his current girlfriend is, but I have refrained from posting about it, because I didn’t want to post unsubstantiated rumors.

However, in a recent interview with fighthype.com, Mike Passenier has made these interesting comments about why Badr Hari CANNOT train full-time in the USA yet, “There is also something personal that keeps him at the moment from going to the U.S. You’ll find out soon enough.”

To me, Mike Passenier has pretty much indirectly confirmed that the rumors about Badr Hari becoming a father are true. While usually very tight-lipped about his personal life, rumors have leaked amongst Badr Hari’s inner-circle that his girlfriend has been indeed pregnant with his child.

If he is going to become a father, I say congrats to him, because considering how important family is to him, I’m sure he will be a great parent.

Anderson Braddock Silva VS Badr Hari, Who The Frick is Anderson Silva?

First, let me say that I”m glad that Mirko Cro Cop isn’t fighting Badr Hari, because that fight could only end in an ugly knockout loss for Mirko. Thankfully, that fight hasn’t been made, but a new one versus Anderson Braddock Silva has been made. And, no, this is a different Anderson Silva than the one who currently dominates the UFC middleweight division.

I honestly have no idea who this guy is, and when I first saw the name I idiotically became excited, because I thought that Anderson “Spider” Silva had suddenly, magically signed with K1, haha.

Well Anderson Braddock Silva is a Brazilian who seems like a good, but not great kickboxer. He knocked out Stefan Leko (who hasn’t?) and he lost twice to Mourad Bouzidi. Bouzidi, if you remember, lost brutally via knockout to Badr Hari.

Silva seems to have a soft body and a decent headkick, but obviously he will be an easy win for Badr Hari, who will no doubt advance on May 27th when they fight.

Below is a video of Anderson Silva looking good against sub-par competition. On a side-note Badr Hari claims that he will continue pursuing his boxing career. I’m not so sure about that. I will write another post about my thoughts on that within the next couple of days. For now, enjoy the video! One of the commentators sounds like a leprechaun when he gets excited!

Badr Hari Official Statement About Returning to K1

These are exciting times for Badr Hari fans. He has decided that he wants one more shot of glory at the K1 World Grand Prix, where the purse is an astronomical 1 MILLION dollars. Here is an excerpt of what he had to say in the press release:

[K-1] have gone far in persuading me to show the world who is currently the best kickboxer on the planet. I think this is a beautiful challenge. At the same time, I will continue my planned route, with full enthusiasm, to become the world champion in boxing. I would love to retire internationally as the K-1 World Grand Prix champion. That’s a title that’s not yet on my record. K-1 has convinced me to say yes to their proposal of fighting one last time on the international stage.

I will wrote a longer entry with more of my own thoughts once I get more time this week. Check back soon friends for another update! And vote on the poll on the right, can Badr Hari win the one Grand-Daddy Pimp-Daddy kickboxing prize of them all, the K1 World Grand Prix? He is not a good tournament fighter, but he is undoubtedly one of the top three kickboxers in the world!

Breaking News, Badr Hari Returning To K1, Staying in Kickboxing After All

Well Badr Hari’s supposed transition to boxing turned out to be anti-climatic to say the least. After fighting an emotional farewell fight with Gokhan Saki, Badr Hari made all the moves to appear like he was serious about boxing. He traveled to New York right away, met with Naazim Richardson, spoke about his big plans for the future.

Well, so much for the big plans. To say I’m a bit nonplussed, a bit befuddled, and yes – I admit – a bit irritated with Badr Hari for pulling this about face would be true.

The recently reformed K1 will be holding an event in the next couple months and they’ve been teasing a BIG surprise, well their big surprise turned out to be Badr Hari. I’ll give credit to the new K1, they pulled out all the stops. I bet they wined and dined Badr Hari 24/7 to get him to come back.

Well it worked.

While this site was initially created to chronicle what I considered Badr Hari’s fascinating and brave transition to boxing, I will still continue to cover all of Badr Hari’s career. I have enjoyed becoming connected with all of Badr Hari’s wonderful fans around the world, and I want to continue for this site to be a comprehensive resource for anyone interested in Badr Hari.

And, now let’s be realistic, Badr Haris is twenty-seven years old. If he is ever to become a legit boxer, now would be the time. He was a kickboxer, and now he will stay a kickboxer for the rest of his life.

I’m curious, what are your thoughts? Please comment. Did Badr Hari make the right choice by returning to K1?

Maybe One Day We’ll See Naazim Richardson Doing THIS Exercise With Badr Hari

The more I see of Naazim Richardson, the more I think that Badr Hari has made the perfect choice for his boxing coach. While some may say someone like Freddie Roach or Emmanuel Steward are better candidates, Roach has been under fire recently for neglecting fighters who train under him. After Jorge Linares’ latest knockout loss, even Oscar De La Hoya was advising Linares to leave Freddie Roach. As for Emmanuel Steward, he is also the trainer of Wladimir Klitschko, so that would be a major conflict on interest. Also, Naazim Richardson has the calm wisdom and experience that someone like Badr Hari would desperately need.

Naazim Richardson, besides being a devout Muslim, is truly one of the last of the great, old-school trainers, who espouses boxing wisdom on a continual basis. He was born to be a boxing trainer and mentor to young fighters.

My only worry, is that physically, Naazim Richardson may not be doing so well. Watch him doing mitts with Shane Mosley below, and in comparison to the dynamic mitt work that Roger Mayweather does, there leaves much to be desired.

On a more amusing note, Naazim Richardson is known for his unique training method of flicking a towel at his fighter, while they’re working the heavybag or doing similar exercises. While I’m sure it does help the fighter with head movement, Roger Mayweather infamously made fun of his method on HBO’s 24/7. These moves are funny, because it looks like some sort of locker-room game guys play with each other, flicking towels at each other, lol. I bet it stings if you get hit! Maybe one day we’ll see Badr Hari doing this exercise.

Here is also a snippet of Brother Naazim’s wisdom.

Should Badr Hari’s First Boxing Opponent Be Kimbo Slice?

Badr Hari and Kimbo Slice have two things in common: they both are transitioning to boxing from another sport, and they both have a lot of haters. This is about where the similarities end. Badr Hari will go down as one of the greatest kick-boxers of all time, and Kimbo Slice will be known as …. an internet-sensation who became a surprising media star.

Realistically, Badr Hari would defeat Kimbo Slice in around 60 seconds by KO in a boxing match. BUT, Kimbo Slice is a household name in America. This fight would get Badr Hari’s name discussed in all the major American media sports outlets. Even Kimbo Slice’s questionable victory over his last opponent received a lot of media coverage simply because of his name alone.

Kimbo Slice might make a good first opponent for Badr Hari, because it’s a guaranteed spectacular win, and it would provide plenty of media coverage. Would this be any indicator of how good of a boxer Badr will become? Of course not, but it would be a way for Badr Hari to dip a toe into the treacherous waters of boxing’s heavyweight division.

Previously Unseen Video Interview of Badr Hari After Defeating Gokhan Saki, Talks About Boxing Future

After defeating Gokhan Saki in awesome fashion, Badr Hari was interviewed by sports journalist and commentator Koert Westerman. He talks about his future in boxing.

I’ll leave you with this Badr Hari quote, and then watch the video!

“He who doesn’t dream, doesn’t live.”
-Badr Hari
